I truely feel for your husband and you....I have had a single lung transplant for copd (emphysema, bronchitis, etc) and sounds like your husband has emphysema like I had because I too was a smoker. Number 1, if your Dr. is not giving you results from the pulmonary tests, etc. then I would find another dr asap. Also, if he is having problems breathing lying down, he might be needing oxygen, and if his oxygen sats are low now it could deprive his vital organs and brain from receiving oxygen. Another reason to find another Dr.? That is my real advice or what I have gone through myself, however I had very helpful Doctors. Let me know if you need to talk.
