Fiber helps to keep your digestive system healthy. It adds bulk and helps keep the food moving without injuring your digestive tract. Fiber gives you a feeling of fullness and that provides a signal to stop eating. Fiber is considered to be a nutrient too. When bacteria in your stomach work on the fiber, certain vitamins are actually produced in the process.
And the best reason of all to have as much fiber in your diet as possible is for weightloss! Weightloss is greatly facilitated by fiber.
