Oops, I just noticed this post.

Just in case it is still pertinent, I was able to drive without any problems after about a week. I think if necessary you can do it after a few days though. The pamphlet that I received from the hospital said that as long as it was not painful to step on the brake pedal then it was OK to drive ... except for the first 24-48 hours of course as you are still clearing those drugs from your system and need your rest so not the best time to do something that requires concentration.

Count on a good 3-4 days if absolutely necessary and about a week in order to be totally comfortable doing it. Of course all depends upon the individual so this is not always accurate for everyone.
