I had a torn meniscus and had to have surgery to have it repaired. Surgery was not too bad, but afterwards I couldn't put any weight on it --- had to have crutches and still on crutches almost 16 days after sirgery. The knee becomes swollen and hurts when i am vertical -- is it worth it? I felt I had no choice because my knee was "locked in position" and very painful. Would I recommend it? What other choices are there? Not many. I hope you have some friends who can help get you through this....
