Re: Need Advice For Transitioning Off Beta Blocker

Mabent - Harcle is correct. I've switched different beta blockers form time to time. A beta blocker switch to another beta blocker can be done after 24 hours, according to doctors. This happens very often. For ex. Last year Generic Metoprolol was recalled by the FDA and TOPROL had a shortage of pills. Patients were switched immediately to Coreg, Atenolol or any other beta blocker. The same with Kerlone (Betaxolol). When the FDA recalled all KERLONE and Betaxolol form pharmacy shelves, you were forced to take another beta blocker. It's been over one year, Kerlone is still not available. The substitue can happen as soon as 24 hours without any problems for most.
