Question Oh please help me.....Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus????????

My mom is 77 and has had major fluid behind her ears, and medication is not taking care of this problem, which causes her to be off balance........and some memory loss..........

The neurologist she seen said he sees some light dementia. My question is:

If she have this fluid behind both ears, can't hear very well do to this, could it be Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus?

She is going to her regular GP Friday, and I want to rule out some things if possible.

I would like a MRI or brain scan done, and blood work before this is where it is to be.

Does this sound like it could be a sign of Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus? Memory loss, off balance, and medication for the dizziness NOT HELPING?

At one time, she was told she could have the fluid drained but the procedure scared her to a frenzy. Something about drilling into the scalp and draining....

What are your thoughts? I love my mom to death and want to give her the benefit of the doubt.........she has always taken great care of her grown kids and still does..............LOL............I want to do what is right for mom.

Please advise.........please write...........

God Bless.
