You really need an mri scan to see if there is any spinal damage or other condition that could relate to your problems. Sounds like it could be a disc problem that rights itself after a while. This is good news, well, not all good obviously. but if you exercise your back and spine, pilates, yoga when u fell ok it can strenghthen your muscles which will help make u less prone to another attack.Surgery is the last resort, I had a sucessful microdiscectomy 7 yrs ago.
