Hi Lizzy,

I think we all agree on the scary part...the scariest event in our lives. It must be additionally frightening not to have an exact cause...how do you fight the unknown ? I hope your appointment with the next vascular surgeon will clear things up. I also live in Southern California, and sometimes forget how lucky we are to have access to specialists.

It might be surprising how many of the stroke survivors that meet here are like you... young, fit, and right in the middle of busy lives...holding important places in families, businesses, and never anticipating a life changing event that happens in one instant!

I remember how hard it was to simply think. The typing was so difficult, but I credit many hours of trying to type a paragraph, only to have it make no sense...arrrg I still have certain words that I always misspell,,,becasue is one of them.
