I think foods can be true for a lot of people...but for me it doesn't matter if I'm drinking water and eating fruits and veggies or having soda,chocolate and pizza.
I also tried the no cleansing method and that didn't work for me cuz my skin is so very oily I really need something to cut through it and water isn't enough.
My acne is Hormonal though.Oily skin from too much testosterone.Now I'm on Spironolactone and it has helped so much with the oil and I have had no zits
I think for the average person w/out a hormone issue these things may work though.
I don't know about salt water,but my face always clears when swimming in the ocean!
