So glad to hear your son is doing so well!!!! (somehow i missed your update back in August, so Im glad you posted again, and this time I got the email notice) I know what you mean with still checking for temps. It's been almost 1 year since my son's surgery and we still check him...but getting better. He is in pre-school now and takes his seizure meds/kit with him to school still "just in case", but I don't think he will need it. He has only had one really high fever during this last year (scared me to death too...i thought "IT" was back)...105 fever with sores in his mouth (seriously i thought for sure...) But it came right down with OTC meds (much easier than the PFAPA fevers) and then little blisters showed up on his hands/feet....so it turned out to be the hand/foot/mouth virus. We were so relieved (although he was miserable). But he got over it, and seriously we never regret having his tonsils out.
So sorry to hear about your dog.
At least you know what to do during a seizure now...but still sooo hard.
