Hi Vince, before you go on medication, I would think that your doctor would have told you to try exercising and maybe changing your diet (if you're not already doing that) to try to lower it first. Was your bp 130/90 at more than one office visit?
A few years ago, my bp was running around 134/89-94...my dr. at the time was about to put me on medication. I asked him if losing weight might help...I was not really overweight (could stand to lose about 10-15 lbs at the most) so he said he didn't really think it would do anything, but I could try. Well, I was determined to try what I could...I lost 8 lbs. and completely cut out all caffeine. In the past, I'd been drinking a lot of coffee. Well, after that, my next 5 readings (at the doctors office) ranged from 120/80 to 117/75. I didn't have to go on any medication. Good luck to you!
