Re: concerned about h/b

First of all I want to say how sorry I am if this doesn't work out. I will tell you a story though that my midwife told me. A patient of hers had an ultrasound done at 6 weeks. There was no heartbeat, but the embryo measured 6 weeks. The woman wanted another opinion, so she went to a hospital in Sacramento, about 2 hours away from here, and they found the heartbeat! Between the time of her first ultrasound and the second, the heart started beating. Anyway, my midwife said that the heart almost ALWAYS starts to beat at 6 weeks, no earlier, no later. It is like a miracle. So is it possible your dates are off? If the embryo measured 6 weeks and there was no heartbeat it is possible you were only hours early. But I will say that from what my midwife said, if the heart hasn't started beating at 6 weeks, then it probably isn't viable. So good luck! Miracles happen. I wish you the best.
