Beta Blockers

Some of them don't lower your blood pressure according to a nurse I talked to but this is not from a good source. Talk to your doctor about that. I also have relatively low heart rate and the beta blocker lowers it maybe by about 10 except for at night when my heart races from anxiety. Talk to your doctor about taking a half or quarter pill to start out. If it's in pill form like my propranolol they're easy to break and are scored. But again talk to your doctor. He/she may want you to take it all because you need it, I don't know and your heart isn't something to mess with (not to make you more nervous). Be careful the first time you stand up after sitting for a while and if you lie down, sit up first, in case you get light headed if it does in fact lower your blood pressure.

I hate the skipped beats too. The beta blocker eliminates that for me. This is one of the less problematic type of medications so I hope you can get through the first day or two without too much stress. I won't tell you not to worry because that's impossible but I'm sure your mind is making it larger an issue than it really is, which is what us anxious people do. But again, I'm a complete amateur, ask your doc or pharmacist when you pick it up.

It may help your anxiety too.
