Hi,

I don't know about rabies but cats who carry fleas or have been bitten by ticks can carry the infection Bartonella, or cat-scratch fever, which is a co-infection of Lyme Disease. Since you are having symptoms I would definitely try to find an LLMD (lyme literate medical doctor) in your area. If you have any form of Lyme the only doctor you should see is an LLMD. Other doctors may tell you they can treat or want to test, but they are not specialists in this disease so do not know the Lyme labs to send to or how to effectively treat should you have this. I hope you don't, but these are suggestions if you want to follow through. I would also post on the Lyme Disease board here for further responses.
