This was a very old thread originally but I wanted to add to the latest info-
Thoughts of 'Early Refill' is a bit of a test for many patients......
1) If one is
truly in pain then one should
go to their ER. All will be on board, documented, acute relief will be administered, and a new long term plan will be devised with the primary Doctor.
2) When a patient is
abusing the script, they will generally choose the path of least hassle and easiest acquisition of the meds -which is usually begging the Pharmacist, doctor shopping, or
making calls to the Nurses for renewal.
So, if
solving the problem is your ultimate goal and you want the path of 'most legit' then the ER is the answer.
If one just
wants a quick fix, an ER visit may be more anxiety producing, and one may be 'outed' as a seeker.
