| Re: Life
Hi and wlecome to the boards! Sorry to hear that your surgery wasn't a total success as you hoped and you are having issues. Trust me there are a number of us that have the memory and word recollection issues, myself included. I'm in a little different spot than you because I am getting ready for surgery versus having had it already. Trust me, I know what it is like to feel like you have no life! I barely made it through high school and had to drop out of college becuase of memory/recollection issues and the worst part was it isn't necessarilly that I didn't know the info. I just couldn't come up with it on the spot. It is very frustrating! My brain doesn't work as it is and they want to take part of it out and I'm supposed to believe it will work better after that; the concept seems kind of screwed up to me. Reality is there is no magical way that will work for everyone when it comes to dealing with the struggles that come with epilepsy/AED's/surgery. We each have to find what works best for ourselves. I play games, I talk to other people in similar situations on here, I volunteer as much as possible, spend time with friends and family, etc. Most importantly, I rely heavily on God and take life one second at a time because one day at a time is way too much for me most days.
Hang in there and know you are not alone and there are a number of us here that care!
