You have papillary cancer whose cells show some similarities to follicular. I wouldn't worry too much about the follicular variant. Just think papillary.
I have heard of many 4.5 tumors. You really need to get rid of the entire thyroid. My tumor was the same size---and I also had small"clouds" on the other side.
Very few states allow hospitalization after RAI. That is a huge problem that groups are fighting, but no luck yet. I hope you have help to watch your kids while you are isolated at home. Please don't consider a motel---because the radiation will effect unsuspecting people.
