| Re: Optic Neuritis as first MS symptom
To be honest, I really had no idea about MS (sorry guys). Went to GP with numb hands - just a pinched nerve, you'll get over it. A couple of months later, numb feet and felt like I was walking like a drunk (falling over, tripping over nothing) GP said torn tendon in my hip, here's some pain killers. Then dizziness and feeling tired all the time - Just over worked, here's some tablets to help you relax. Then lost the sight totally in one of my eyes, went to Optometrist who referred me to Opthalmologist, who ordered MRI and then dx'd with MS based on the lesions etc. Manager wasn't happy. I'd "talk myself into MS as was a good excuse for time off work, you'll need to practice your apologies to all the other staff as they won't get bonuses now".
When took time off work to travel to Neuro, job gone (after 20+ years was very horrible, but the way they made decisions so they could terminate me legally, not happy)
So was a victim of stupid doctors origianally, but the ON was the clincher.
