After 8 months after knee replacement surgery my husband had calf pain. We went to his surgeon that did the surgery and he ordered a sonogram. It revealed it had a large blood mass in the calf. He said evidently the body did not absorb the blood after surgery and was causing the calf pain. He ordered him to use heat, massage, walking to see if it help to absorb it. He is to go back in 30 days. Has anyone else had this experience after knee surgery or any suggestions.
I would think a wide bore needle into the sac and suck it out. If it has been around for 8 months it will be encapsulated and take for ever to be absorbed.
