Re: Newbie with a question!

I was diagnosed with carpal tunnel about 5 years ago. I used night time braces and felt pretty good during that time. Lately I have been getting the pain that starts in the palm and shoots up my arm and shoulder. Another symptom is my hands hurt, start tingling and go numb when I grip anything. Driving really brings it on, and I mean every time I grip the steering wheel. It's bugging me so my doctor wants me to get an EMG and see a hand surgeon. I am wondering what an EMG feels like. I heard anything from 'you can't feel it' to 'it's very painful'. I am also wondering about the drugs for surgery. I have heard just a local, or a local with an IV with twilight sleep. I just want to be prepared either way. Thanks for any info!
