I should have known this . I just could not remember. I htink that with SSI the backpay is paid in installments. Where as SSDI you are paid in one lump sum. When asked the date of onset I put the year 1997. Because that was the first time my son recieve a diagnoses of autism. I know for a fact that social security has his records. Don't they save your records on a computor? At least the important information?
