4yr. old daughter w/ high WBC

I am writing inregards to my 4yr. old daughter Allie. 3 week ago she was having severe abdominal pain, vomtting, pettichia, high fever (104.8) and sore throat. She was diagnosed with strep throat and put on penicillan which she had finished on Monday. Again on Friday she is so very ill 4 days after finishing her meds. Has all the same symptoms ad of course the pediatrician is out for the weeken so I take her to Patients First today (Saturday) They wanted to do a WBC so they *****ed her finger and ran the test...when the doctor cam into the room he looked at me and said, "your daughter is sick...really sick her WBC came back at a 19.7 and I actually had themrun the test twice to make sure it wasn't a lab error and it wasn't..i think she will be ok" YOU THINK???? So as you can imagine, I am sitting at home stuck on the computer doing research. Is it possible with levels that "high" that she could have leukimia? Should I push for more testing? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!!
