Can someone help me does anyone know about heprin shots prior to aortic valve surgery? My dad has mild congestive heart failure and needs to have the aortic valve replaced. He's in the hosiptal and is scheduled for surgery on Thursday. I'm really worried he's also a diabetic and coughing and wheezing alot.

I really appreciate any help in this we're unsure of side effects and so forth?
