Stapedectomy Failure

If anyone can advise on where to go/what to do next, please help. My 7-yr-old grandson had a stapedectomy, then a revision, and is now deaf in that ear. We are beside ourselves with regret, devastation, terrible sadness... We so trusted the doctor to know what he was doing, and now we have a wonderful little guy that has no hearing in one ear and is losing hearing in the other. We did see a different doctor and he wants to put him on sodium flouride, which I understand to be toxic. We are terrified to do anything, and terrified to do nothing. If anyone can help guide us, we would be so grateful. I'm so sorry we believed surgery was the answer - twice even. We should have known better than to let them cut into that precious fellow, but we truly wanted him to have the best chance at hearing that he could have. And the surgeon seemed so convincing that this was a minor "repair" that would fix the problem. Oh my god - if only we would have known the destructive results, if I could turn back the clock, if I could give him the nerve from my ear...if, if, if. But I know that's all so stupid, so we have to find a way to move forward. Thank you for any and all input.
