My dad also has copd, but is not on oxygen. He also had problems with his heart rate like you. It would be extremely high, then extremely low. He was given a pacemaker and has done great with it. He is now having other heart issues, but they seem controlled with medication. Check with your doctor about the need for a pacemaker. From what I understand it's a simple procedure that is done all the time. He is also in his 70's. Please keep me posted on how you are doing, good luck!
