I eat nuts brocolli carrots and brown rice every day along with some sort of protein... Should I continue with this dosage and see if my system adjust or back off to just one dose due to the fiber I intake during the day. I took metamucil befor and stopped after a few days cause seeing all that undigested food didn't seem right to me. How do I find that right balance of soluble/ insoluble fiber to intake in order to achieve normal bm's? Or should I just continue and my system will eventually adjust giving this dosage a week or 2. thanks for any advice
Sometimes it can take time for your body to get used to the extra fiber. The undigested food is probably the insoluable fiber from the nuts, carrots, broccoli. It's normal to see insoluable fiber in our bowel movements. Maybe cut back one dose of the Metamucil for about 10 days and then reintroduce to your body after that and see if that helps with gas pains any. Broccoli sometimes causes gas pains in some people.
