My honest opinion- try everything else possible first before surgery! Especially a double. How long will you be NWB? I had a lapidus bunionectomy on one foot in early September and am still recovering. My incision never healed and required 2 further surgeries. One to clean out infection and one to remove the metal plate (I was allergic to it). These things are rare but I have 3 children and looking back would never have done the surgery in the first place. I guess it all depends on how much pain you are in but even then I'd think long and hard a out it.
