How do you find out that you have PCOS?

I went to the doctors about 3 weeks ago to find out about my irregular periods. I haven't had one in about 10 months now, and have symptoms of PCOS. The doctor told me that she thought it could be that after asking me questions, so she sent me for a blood test. She didn't do any other tests or examinations. I got the blood test back last week and they were normal. That is the only test that has been done, so apparently I don't have it. I haven't been back to the doctors since, and I don't know what to think. With all the symptoms but a normal blood test and no period for 10 months.... What else could it possible be?
