Suggest he not take the DM except at night so he can sleep. It can dry up the membranes a bit too much, especially the sinuses. The one with decongestant would be better.

The afrin, be careful not overuse, rebound congestion can happen quickly. The mucinex with decongestant (pseudoephedrine) will help with the stuffiness.

He must eat....something....especially protein and carb...the reason is that a fever and being sick burns a lot of energy.

My favourite food when I had the flu was a microwaved scrambled egg put on toast with salt and pepper...hit the spot, Basically, it's a fried egg sandwich.

I hope he feels better soon.....I empathise greatly.
