I'm no expert on cpap vs bipap vs surgery, so I can't help you there, but I thought I'd add this:
I went to my Urologist for my yearly check-up recently, and I could hardly recognise him. He'd lost about a Hundred pounds! We got to talking & he mentioned that he had been using a cpap machine for sleep apnea, but after losing the weight his sleep apnea was GONE!
It turns out after losing all that extra around his neck there was nothing left to stop his breathing.
Now, I don't know if that exactly applies to you, but I just thought I'd mention it in case it might apply.
