Re: Daughter possibly has aspergers, finally getting tested age 10!

I have a daughter who just turned 15. She has Asperger's and ADHD. I'm happy to discuss things with you.

We got the "official" diagnosis when she was 12, but I'd known for years as I am an OT. I only recently told her of the Asperger's, in large part to how badly she "took" the news about the ADHD. However, she is handling the news OK for now.

I know how hard this is, and I wish I could tell you it will get better soon. However, puberty can be very tough on kids with this diagnosis. I would think the sooner you can address it the better. Remember, she is still your beautiful girl, with or without the diagnosis. That will NEVER change.

Good luck!
