I would be assertive about getting this checked out. A nephrologist would be the best specialist to see and your GP could recommend one unless you already know a good one. A urinalysis would be helpful, and the nephrologist may recommend a kidney biopsy to see what kind of tissue is in the mass. This is done without an operation, through the skin after local anesthesia. I would not just wait and see, I would get this checked out now with your GP or by getting a referral from your GP. Your GP should be able to talk to a nephrologist and expedite an app't so you don't have to wait too long.
