I am wondering if anyone can help me. My mom suffers from severe sudden bouts of vertigo that requires her to be hospitalized, this started out of the blue 5 yrs ago. She throws up continually to the point of dry heaving as well as being extremely dizzy. She can't stand at all, she can't move her head at all; she is laid up and we need to call EMS. She needs to get intravenous medication to stop the dizziness & vomiting.
We went to the ENT specialist several times, CAT scans have been done and everything checks out. They ruled out Meuniere's disease, any inner ear problems or positional vertigo.
Her attacks come very suddenly with no warning, usually within 2 to 3 hours of the first symptoms.
Does anyone have ever encounter this? we think it may be related to the digestive system but our family doctor said it's very unlikely..
Any insight would be greatly appreciated as this has now my mom afraid of going anywhere should this happen.
