I would definitely keep her off it until you get a second opinion -- preferably from an orthopedic surgeon who is an ankle/foot specialist. Unless there's some unusual reason that her doctor is aware of (and we are not) that would make it okay for her to walk on it right away, research shows that this is a very bad idea.
The only factors I can think of would be that she is very young, possibly very light weight (?) and perhaps the lesion is very small (?). I still would not take the risk of making it worse without getting a second opinion, because if she walks on it now, the damage is done and it's too late to go back.
