A pap can be abnormal for many reasons besides HPV or something more serious. Did you you take a bubble bath the night before? Use any kind of feminine cleansing product? Bathe using the same washcloth, razor, etc as someone else recently?
if it is indeed HPV, which they evidently didn't tell you, then you could have contracted it at birth from your mother. I'd call back or go in and have a chat before agreeing to a colposcopy at this point. You need more information.
