Sometimes there is a dementia part of ALS...From what I was told.

But it could be that it is just an inherent trait in your mother that is amplified by what she is going through. I believe that I observe that whatever "habits" people have that when they get older.. the habits get more intense. I think it is just part of the aging process.. I am sorry for what you are going through.
