Re: Knee pain after hip replacement

Just a follow up--Had my first follow up visit last week and was told that this knee pain was common and as I suspected a result of changes in gait. I am finally, with both hips fixed, walking properly. Physician's assistant said it would subside in time and if by time of next visit (with the surgeon at 6 weeks), if it was still bothering me, the surgeon might order some physical therapy since it could be tendinitis.

Today, however, I had a physical therapist/massage therapist friend do a lyphatic massage which helps with swelling in the operated leg and she also worked on my knee. It feels much, much better. So, I'm thinking a few more treatments like this will be in order!
