I appreciate the response. I don't have any other digestive issues besides the reflux. Swallowing is not an issue at all, just the reflux with the constant coughing, which now is almost completely gone. My doctor said I had a lot of scarring on my esophagus and that I should have had this done 10 years ago, glad I did it now. He also said I could eat a soft diet, as long as it went down comfortably. I actually ate some thoroughly cooked chicken breast meat, small bites, and it went down very easily, much to my surprise. I understand about the swelling now, I just didn't realize it at first (ignorance on my part). Thank you for the answer, I had seen your previous posts skimming through others and will go back and read them now.
