I doubt you can get addicted to ativan in one week. Take as needed for withdrawals, but I suggest you find a longterm plan for your recovery. This could be a support group, taking antibuse, outpatient group therapy, etc. Get a plan in place to deal with your alcohol abuse. Temptation will always be there, and you need to commit to not drinking.
It can be done. I have done it for 30 years. Good luck and keep posting!
