Perioral dermatitis not going away

Hi all,

I have been diagnosed with perioral dermatitis. I've had eczema for a long time and when I was little I'd dab some steroid cream on my mouth/face whenever it flared up on my face. However, this flare up has been on and off for almost a year, and it's really bothersome etc.

The first dermatologist gave me some tetracycline and told me to put vaseline on my lips. The tetracycline helped but it didn't keep it off. The second dermatologist gave me elidel 2x a day and solodyn. This combination worked really well at first but now my skin doesn't really respond to it.

However, I am now getting small brown spots on my lips (hyper-pigmentation) they're kind of like freckles. I'm worried that my lips will turn brown eventually... what can I do and what's happening?

I'm going to see my first dermatologist soon but I want to reach out to you guys.

Thanks!
