I loved the ice machine. I rented one, it was $75 for two weeks after my insurance. The first week I used it as much as possible, with my foot elevated and my swelling was minimal. After the first week, anytime I could feel it starting to swell or had any pain, I used it it helped almost right away. Definitely easier than dealing with ice packs.
