I would find a neuro that is competent in dealing with peripheral nerves conditions, ask around large teaching hospitals [neurology departments] for neuro's that come highly recommended in dealing with the peripheral nervous system and conditions, then you will get proper testing and if needed reffered to other specialist.

It was my experience in the beginning of my neuropathy that there is a lot of neuro's out there that don't know much at all about the peripheral nervous system, the first professor of neurology I had game me the wrong test for the symptoms I had, then told me he didn't think I had any burning symptoms, my feet were on fire at the time, what an idiot, that was it for me, done my own research and found a neuro that come highly recommended from other people in the neurology field.
