Since it is a controlled substance, md's can only prescribe a certain amount. I went through 32 of my 40 in the first 3 days and got a new prescription on day 4. Thankfully the first 3 days are the worst and I haven't needed anything since, Tylenol is working well for me. Keep your foot up as much as you possibly can, decreased swelling means decreased pain.
