Re: Depersonalisation & depression caused by inner ear problem

Hya,

I just saw your post, so I thought I'd reply. I am 99% better now. I still get pressure changes in my ears for no reason, and I think I have a few more headaches than before, but otherwise both physically and mentally everything is fine.

However, it was necessary for me to be on anti-depressants for a few months to get back on track. I am usually the last persn to take meds, but I really was at the end of my rope, and I'm usually a very upbeat person. I took a low dose of Citalopram for about 3 months. The first week's side effects were horrid (although no worse than the illness itself!), but it was totally worth it, as I started to feel better very, very quickly and the side effects lessened after the first week.

It was just the boost my system needed. Ths illness basically puts your system out of whack and I found that the pills were a lifesaver. I don't know how long the depression might have gone on without them, but I knew I could take no more of it.

My advice is to speak to your doctor. And do what is necessary.

Hope you feel better soon.
X
