| Re: New to Raynaud's, does this sound like it?
I have Reynauds's second to Multiple Sclerosis. Most people have Reynaulds second to something...
In my case, my feet and fingers turn white, not purple. Usually they get dark red (maybe purple) as they warm up and the blood begins to circulate again.. it is incredibly painful and keeping them warm does nothing to help although I can tell you that my days of wearing flip flops in the grocery store are long gone...if I dont wear socks and shoes, they start hurting the moment I step inside any highly airconditioned store.
In the winter, wearing insulated boots keeps me comfortable during the day but as soon as I remove my boots, I put on a pair of slippers over my socks.
Reynaulds is a circulatory problem and it is very easily diagnosed. See the Rheumy or see a good podiatrist. Either can do the test to tell you if it is Reynaulds, although the Rheumy can further test you for any reasons why this might have come on so suddenly..
Good luck.
