| Toothache due to suspected cracked teeth
The first time I had toothache was around half a year ago maybe and it was upon chewing on food that was kind of hard. The pain wasn't there all the time and I didn't check it out. Few months ago, I had cold sensitivity when eating ice-cream which lasted around 10 mins. I also had some pain when chewing on meat that was hard to chew apart and caused a sharp pain. Recently I also feel pain and feel uncomfortable when I bite on certain types of food and at a certain spot on the upper back molar but was not as painful as before. I also feel a dull ache from time to time kind of like a gum inflammation type of pain, and at times the adjacent tooth would feel weird and uncomfortable like it was also being affected somehow. I know for a fact that my tooth is at least a bit chipped off coz I can feel it and I even checked with a dental mirror.
I went to see 3 dentists already and all of them can't do anything and seems to make my teeth hurt more by tapping on it and one dentist used a metal end and pushed against it, asking if it hurts?? Told me no use to do filling as it is only a bit chipped, it may be a possible crack and asked me to see endodontist.
I haven't seen endo yet as I'm afraid of paying so much and being disappointed with the outcome of not finding out what is wrong with my tooth. I also am hesitant about doing root canal as I heard negatives things about it. I have another dentist appointment with a different dentist coming up in a few days as I was considering just extracting the tooth but the pain is not severe to the point where I wanna lose a tooth but this has been frustrating for awhile, I have been changing the booking for this dentist a few times as I want to see if my tooth pain improves. Anyone else had similar experience or any advice on what I should do?
Also, has anyone had a back molar extraction and does it feel weird or difficult to chew food?
