Hi Debra,
I'm not sure what's normal, but I'm having a similiar problem. I'm 47 and over the past couple of years my periods have gotten more irregular with heavier clotting. I had my last normal period in February. Since then, I've had nothing but light, irregular spotting. It doesn't seem to follow any regular cycle. I may have 3 or 4 days of spotting, then nothing for a week or so and then another 2 or 3 days of spotting. I had surgery 5 years ago to remove an endometrial cyst and my left ovary and I don't know if that has anything to do with my current problem or not. I've also been using progesterone cream for a while. Could that have anything to do with the spotting? Is it normal to have irregular spotting like this as you approach menopause? It's beginning to worry me. Any help would be appreciated.
