Magnesium as a Cure for Reflux

I was reading the older posts and came across a very long thread, a few pages back. Bluepumpkin posted that magnesium cured his GERD (acid reflux) and he was able to go off PPI's like prevacid, nexium, etc. A few people asked him questions and he disappeared. A few people tried magnesium and said it was helping. I would be hesitant to stop Prevacid based on a poster's opinion. If anyone who was on that old thread is still here and tried magnesium, please tell me if it worked and if you discontinued your PPI's or H2 meds (pepcid, zantac, etc.)
