If anyone is interested in using herbs for acid reflux or GERD, Slippery elm in water or aloe vera juice can be a miracle.When you suppress the acid your stomach needs to digest food,a while later the body will make more it becomes a vicious circle of using antacids and the body making more acid.When the stomach empties food you haven't broken down, you then begin to have bowel problems.There are natural health care practitioners out there who are trained to pull the stomach down and fix the problem. Meds do not fix the problem, they only help the symptoms.

I'm very interested to try natural methods for the symptoms of a hiatal hernia. Can you but the slippery elm and aloe vera juice in a health food store and how often do you take it? I would also like to know if anyone has had success having their hernia massaged down by a chiropractor? I live in the Orlando, Fl area and would appreciate any info on this.

If I don't keep my diet "alkaline" nothing helps my symptoms. I overdid protein & carbs over the holidays, and am still recuping. Doing everything alkaline I can.........lemon juiced filtered water, Body Rescue Tea, aloe ver juice, veggies, fruits.

Then I add my helpful supplements.

How do you do alkaline diet? I'm at my wits end none of the meds work and I already have Barrett's Esophagus without the cell changes, the only thing that helped for a DAY was yogi tea digestion aid but it taste like crap. What is slippery elm? I hate Aloe vera jucie taste also, help anything in pill form that will relief this burning throat to the stomach? I tolerate surgeries better than this constant burning and belching! Even my ears seem to burn.
