A pear ??
Well, I have had GERD for 7 years now, tried most of the meds, both OTC and prescription. I know how bad GERD can be; I wish it did not have to be a life-long battle/concern, but that is just the way it is for most of us. Most of the meds do help, none of them are a cure of course, and some only work for a (short) period of time only, I found.
One thing I did find out though about 6 months ago.....
When my heartburn gets bad, I eat a pear. Yes, a pear.
A pear is quite alkaline and this is a relief to the body. The pear acts like an antacid, I find. (Cucumber slices work okay too, but a pear is more convenient, if at work for example). Eating a pear is not a cure-all of course, but I find it does help alot, especially if I don't want to swallow one of those blasted pills.
Sounds simple, but give this 'experiment' a try with a pear.
